July 13, 2015 Meeting Minutes
The Monthly meeting of the Max Communit Club was called to order on July 13, 2015 at 7:00pm (MT)
In Attendance were: Cindy Cawthra, Shary Boon, Daisy and Jim Jensen Bob Tuttle, Jason and Marcy Kier, and Ed Burns.
Cindy introduced a brief discussion regarding park maintenance, and thanked everyone who has been helping with it.
The previous meetings minutes were read by Bob Tuttle, and Cindy Cawthra read the Treasurer's Report. Shary Boon made a motion to accept both as read and with no additions or corrections. The motion was seconded by Jim Jensen. The motion passed with a unanimous vote.
Old Business: Cindy has order the flagpole light, and it is hoped that it will arrive soon and be installed.
Cindy spoke with the CPA regarding the community club and hopes to hear back from him soon.
The smaller coffee pot that was voted on at last months meeting has not yet been purchased.
The club house was rented by the Catholic Church for some of their activities.
New Business: Fun Day was discussed. Jim Jensen made a motion to have Fun Day on the 20th of September. The motion was seconded by Marcy Kier. The motion passed with a unanimous vote. Fun Day will be held on September 20, 2015 beginning at 1:00pm (MT). We will have a 50/50 raffle this year, both beef and pork will be provided by the club. Raffle tickets will be available from the club members and we plan to have club members present at this years county fair at the fairgrounds south of Benkelman to sell raffle tickets – One Dollar per ticket, or six tickets for Five Dollars. Ticket holders need not be present to win. Shary Boon advised the club that Boon Trucking would be providing two Fifty Dollar beef drafts. Music and entertainment will need to be discussed and decided upon at the next (August 2015) meeting.
Discussion was held regarding having a concrete pad installed under the south picnic shelter. Ed Burns made a motion to table further discussion on this until the next ( August 2015) meeting. Marcy Kier seconded the motion. Motion passed on a unanimous vote.
Discussion was also held regarding the addition of another picnic shelter (carport type) to the Max Pioneer Park. Discussion was tabled until the next (August 2015) meeting.
Cindy Cawthra advised that she will look into the cost for both a new shelter and a concrete pad for both the potential new shelter and the south picnic shelter. She will have the information available for discussion at the next (August 2015) meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:05pm.
